Meet Dr. Anne White

Born and raised in Georgia, Dr. Anne moved to Rome in 1986 to begin her training in Family Medicine.   Dr. Anne attended Georgia College and State University for her undergraduate studies in Medical Technology and earned her Master’s degree in Biology from Georgia State University - Atlanta.  She went on to earn her medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia.

Dr. Anne is board certified in Family Medicine and is a Fellow of the AAFP.   She is trained to handle medical issues from birth to death in men, women and children.  She has a special interest in bone health and osteoporosis.  She was the first physician in northwest Georgia certified to perform bone density testing.

Dr. Anne is married to a retired educator who taught at Rome Middle School the last ten years of his career.  He taught all over the state following Dr. Anne’s educational career and has been with her through three college degrees and residency training.  Supportive doesn’t begin to describe his positive approach to her profession.

The most important role in Dr. Anne's life has been mother to her three sons.  Her oldest son is a fifth generation teacher; her middle son is in the Army serving our country; her youngest son is in college.  The Whites are also the proud grandparents of two wonderful little girls.

Dr. Anne's interests outside of medicine are varied.  She loves classical music and plays this and other musical styles on the piano.  She is an avid camper, armchair archaeologist and struggles to fit exercise into her life.

Dr. Anne underwent gastric bypass surgery in 2011 and definitely understands issues confronted by the obese.  Because of this, she tries to be particularly supportive of patients who have obesity related illness.
